Today, we visited the awful tornado damage that happened just outsie of Greensboro a couple months ago. It was a very somber and heart breaking experience to see piles of peoples houses and belongings.

We toured some of the early work of Sam Mockbee who started Rural Studio. We visited the first house out in Mason’s Bend that he built when the Rural Studio program started. We got to hang out a bunch in Bike Lab during our time in Greensboro. Andy and John are doing some very cool things there and helping to design and create Bamboo bikes. We went to an old Cotton plant today, was amazing to think about what this place must have been like when it was up and running. Rust has always been something that I have been attracted to when photographing, so it was a great place for that.

Today, we did a Thinking Wrong exercise. John Bielnberg, he randomly points to a word on a page of a book after one of us had chosen a number. We then broke into groups, each with their own word. That word was put in the center of a huge sheet of paper, and then we wrote and drew everything that came to mind from that word. Then from all those words, we thought of other words, and on and on. ...

I was honored to have been selected to be part of the AIGA BoNE [Best of New England] Show. My project Cultivate was chosen and was part of the exhibit which just opened in Boston.
