It was my first time attending EduCon at the Science Leadership Academy in Philidelphia and it was an amazing time. Christian Long, David Bill, and I presented a session on Design Thinking, which you can read more about here. It was wonderful to meet some educators who are doing truly remarkable things in their schools and classrooms and catch up with some friends. The Science Leadership Academy is a terrific school and the conference and school was started by Chris Lehmann, be sure to watch his TEDxNYED video.
Design thinking seeks to bridge the gap between pedagogical theory and reality. And its default setting places students in the real world in search of authentic problems affecting real people.
